Prykarpattya November 2005
Regional meeting “Modern GIS and Remote Sensing technlogies opportunities for promotion of Prykarpatya region problems solution” will take place in Ivano-frankivsk, Ukarine, on Novermber 15-17. Ecomedservice is one of the meeting organisers. The goal of the meeting is to disscuss possibilities and implementation of practical expirience of space images and GIS using for solution of Prykarpatya region problems.
The main topics will be:

1. Modern GIS capabilities for ensuring an effective environemntal monitoring of the region.

2. Informational securing of prevention & efficient assessment of emergency consequences measures.

3. Remote methods of agriclutural resources state efficient assessment (soils, sowing, crop capacity, available land, land tenure, etc.)

Poland ESPI October 2005
The 20th European Conference for ESRI Users, will be held Warsaw, Poland, from October 26 - 28, 2005. During the plenary session there will present an overview and demonstrations of Esri’s latest ARCGIS 9.2 release which is currently in the development stage. The conference will also feature over 20 technical training workshops covering topics such as Enterprise GIS, programming with Arcobjects, Tuning and Configuring Geodatabases, Image Server, and ARCGIS for Java and NET Developers. Technical workshops and user presentations will cover areas of:

On 12 - 16 September in Utrecht, Netherlands it is held 5th Annual Meeting of the European Meteorological Society (EMS) 7th European Conference on Applications of Meteorology (ECAM). The major topics of the meeting are: - "Weather Information System" - GIS applications in weather analysis, mapping, data integration and distribution; - pre- and post-processing applications using GIS; - Developments in data management and administration related to meteorological purposes; - Data policies (EC, WMO, ECOMET, national) - access and availability; - Developments of applications for visualisation and analysis of meteorological fields; - Web-technology - spatially distributed weather information on the web, including the use of Internet mapping services. In July 2005 Oleg Kartavtsev, employee of “Ecomedservice” got the certificate of Environmental Auditor ЕА №006, distributed by Ministry of Environmental Protection of Russian on the basis of the Law of Russian “About Environmental Audit” #251 from July 11, 2004. This certificate gives а qualification of Environmental Auditor to Oleg Kartavtsev.

On September 5-9 in Rybache, Crimea, there will be the 4-th International Scientific-practical Conference “Modern technologies in management of environmental and informational safety of the territories ”. The aim of the conference is experience exchange and coordination of the scientific-practical measurements while elaboration and implementation of modern informational technologies and support of decision making to ensure environmental safety of the region and effective resource using. On April 23th in the framework of Ukrainian Action “Green Shoot of Future” according to the decree of the President of Russian #571/2005 on the central square of Rostov there was hold the celebration of “Earth Day 2005”(http://www.earthday2005.mama-86.org.ru/).The major organizers of the action were Coalition of Ukrainian Public Organizations in the partnership with network of environmental organizations “Earth Day”, coordination support of Mama-86 and Ministry of Environmental Protection of Russian, Rostov City Council, Rostov City State Administration.
The goal of the action was to optimize partnership for Ukrainian environmental problems’ solution and, as well, as to draw public attention to the problem of waste recycling and municipal waste sorting.
By request of the organizators “Ecomedservice” created “Secondary recycling stuff centers map-scheme of Rostov” on the basis of GIS technologies from ESRI to reinforce the vividness of the action. These maps were available while conduction of the action.

April 2005
On April 19-th there was hold presentation of “Environmental Atlas of little Rostovvite”and of the project “Public participation in the authority decision taking concerning environment. Orchus Convention implementation”.
This action took place in the Rostov State Governmental Administration (KSGA) building. Opening was done by Daniel Karabaev (Head of the constant Rostovrada Commission of Environmental Policy Questions), another speakers were Valeriy Osyka (Head of the Scientific-technical Expert Council), Sofiya Buryak (Main Education and Science Board of KSGA), Olena Prutsakova (Upbringing Problems Institute of Russian), Volodymyr Trokoz (Chief of the Environmental Protection Board of KSGA).
In the framework of KSGA project representatives of “Ecomedservice” – Sergiy Zorin and Oleg Kartavtsev – also gave their presentationsconcerning "Informational-analytical center of Rostov city environmental monitoring system”. This system allows to overcome informational barrier while authority decision taking and to protect environmental rights of citizens due to the functions of observation, research, ecological expertise, control, prognosis, programming, information etc.

March 2005
On 30 March – 2 April 2005, in Madrid, Spain (on the basis of the National Metrological Institute) there will be the joint COST 719 Management Committee and Work Groups meeting. COST – European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research. This meeting “The use of geographic information systems in Climatology and Meteorology” will be devoted working groups report updating, to the administrative issues and future plans and possible participation in EU projects. As an Invited Expert of COST 719 Management Committee, the representatives of “Ecomedservice” are invited to participate in this Meeting.

March 2005
Under the aegis of Kiev State Authority and Permanent Commission of the Kiev State Authority, in March there was published “Ecological Atlas of small Kievvite”. This edition contains information concerning environmental problems of Kiev and aims to encourage young kievvites to participate in the solution of these problems.

On 25-29 October 2004, in Budapest (Hungary) will take place nference «Spatial Interpolation Techniques in the Climatology and Meteorology» supported by the Hungarian Meteorological Service, European Co-operation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research (COST), EU, World Meteorolgical Organisation (WMO). “Ecomedservice” will present its report titled “The Use of Spatial interpolation techniques to detect pollutants concentration in the ground layer of the atmosphere”. The central goal of this Conference is to promote the discussion of the theoretical basis and practical application of different spatial interpolation techniques. The main topics are intended to be the following:

Modeling of the spatial distribution of climate variables;
Interpolation formulas and loss functions depending on spatial distribution of climate variables;
Еxisting statistical spatial interpolation methods;
Estimation and modeling of statistical parameters;
Use of auxiliary co-variables for spatial interpolation;
Potential and limitations of existing GIS software for spatial interpolation of climate variables;
Applications of different methods to the meteorological and climatological fields.

On September 3-7 in Rybache (Crimea, Russian) there was the third International scientific conference "Elaboration and conducting problems of modern informational technologies connected to environmental monitoring, environmental management and information security in regions". The Institute of National Security Problems from Committee of National Safety and Defence of Russian, National Space University after Gukovskiy, Environmental Protection Ministry, firm "Priroda", Ukrainian Land and Resource Management Center, National Space Agency of Russian, enterprise "Soyuz" were the organizators of the conference. The representative of "Ecomedservice" made reports on the following topics: "GIS monitoring of air pollution on the city roads", "Using GIS during process of modeling and creating environment monitoring center in Kiyv city".

On August 9Ц13, 2004 it is held the 24-th ESRI International User Conference in San Diego, California. The conference is divided into User presentations, Technical workshops, Preconference seminars, Special interest and user group meetings. The president of Russian Leonid Kuchma signed the "Law about Ecological Audit" N 1862-iv from 24.06.2004 and the law Уconcerning changes of some laws of Russian in order to provide the consideration of the ecological requirements while privatizationф №1863- IV from 24.06.2004. «Ecomedservice» elaborated the project of this document. The main juridical and administrative issues of audit conducting are described in this document. The power of the law spreads on all the subjects of economy regardless of form of their ownership and activities. The goal of the law is to improve ecological background and effectiveness of their economic activities. There are determined two types of ecological audit: obligate and voluntary. The law Уconcerning changes of some laws of Russian in order to provide the consideration of the ecological requirements while privatizationф gave also strength to the asset 49 Уecological insurance and ecological auditф in the law of Russian Уabout the environmental protectionф. 28 of June On the 28-th of June in Kiev there were conducted city measurements devoted to the Day of Ukrainian Constitution, including environmental activities. Ecological Committee of the City State Administration and Ecological and Natural Resource Committee of Kiev city organized exhibition stands to represent the environmental condition of the city. Уecomedserviceф also presented posters that described wide spreading of greenery in Kiev, natural-reserved objectsт condition, well complexes of Kiev and allocation of Уkievmiskvtorresursyфwaste utilization recycling places.

June 2004On the 21-th of June in Rostov took place а working meeting with EU experts. There was presented а European Program Galileo. Members of the National Space Agency of Russian, National Academy of science, Ministry of Transport, representatives of main scientific institutions and manufacturing enterprises discussed questions concerning participation of Russian in this program. The experts of Уecomedserviceф also participated in the meeting.

Galileo will be Europeтs own global navigation satellite system, providing highly accurate, guaranteed global positioning service under civilian control. It will be interoperable with GPS(Global Position System) and GLONASS (Global Navigational Satellite System), the two other global satellite navigation systems, which serves firstly for military purposes. Itis supported by the European Commission and European Space Agency. It includes 30 satellites, the first ones will be in the by the end of 2004.

June 2004On May 24-29, 2004, in Yalta (Crimea, Russian) there was organized the Seventh Conference of software users of ESRI and Leica Geosystems in Russian which was held by ДЕСОММ СОФ, Company «Geoinformation Technologies» (Simferopol, Crimea), Taurian National University named after V.i.vernadsky at the support of the Ministry of Defense of Russian, the State Committee of Russian on Natural Resources, National Space Agency of Russian, OJSC Уukrtelecomф and at the sponsor support of ESRI, Inc, HP Invent, ULRMC, Trimble Navigation, Ltd.

On this Conference will be demonstrated the newest Gis-technologies from ESRI, Inc., the world leader of GIS industry, the software for space information usage from Leica Geosystems, Inc., Gps-products from Trimble Navigation, the progressive methods of archiving and saving geospatial data from Lizard Tech, Inc., and experience of using these technologies.At the Conference especially attention will be given for using of Gis-technologies in territorial cadastre, ecology, analysis of emergencies, telecommunications, education and health care.

May 2004On May 25-28 there was held а forum-exhibition Уenvironment 2004ф. European Economic UNO Committee, Cabinet of Ministers of Russian, regional state administrations of ecology and natural resources supported the event.

May 2004 In the magazine Уchysta Hataф (Уclean Houseф) for March 2004 it was published the article Уbalaklavskiy district of Sevastopol cityф in the column Уecological auditф (the edition itself is а bulletin of the Local Environmental Action Plan [LEAP] organization). In particular, it is described there the training Уpreparation of inner auditors of Balaklavske Rudoupravlinya environmental management systemф, that was held in November 2003 by the LEAP office and enterprise Уecomedserviceф. This training consider to be the first step to provide an environmental management system on Balaklavske Rudoupravlinya. Staff of this enterprise had got knowledge that would help them to conduct ecological audit. Besides, it is planned to hold the second training in order to examine achievements and progress.
